Our firm was established in 2009 by Mr Alessandro Ruo and is aimed at professionals, companies and foreign firms, which need assistance in Spain, other areas of Europe and in the rest of the world. Our staff includes lawyers as well as Patent and Trademark Agents. We also have technical staff specialised in drafting new patent applications as well as translating European Patents.

The Managing Director of the Office is Mr Alessandro Ruo, a Spanish and Italian Attorney at Law as well as a registered Spanish Patent and Trademark Agent, who has over 20 years experience in the field.

Our staff is fluent in four languages, Spanish, English, French and Italian which allows us to work in any of these four languages without the need for translators.

Our firm represents international companies before EUIPO, the Spanish Patent Office as well as the Spanish Courts.

Director of the firm Ruo Patentes y Marcas, gained a degree in Law in the Complutense University in Madrid in 1996 as well as in La Sapienza University in Rome in 1993. He started to work in IP in 1995 and worked in top Spanish, Italian and UK firms. Alessandro is a lawyer in both Spain and Italy and also a registered Spanish Patent and Trademark Attorney. Alessandro has been reappointed to the INTA Anticounterfeiting Committee for the 2022-2023 term. He is fluent in Spanish, Italian and English.

Gained a Degree in Law in Alicante University in 2002 and finished a Master in IP in the same year. Agus has been working with the firm since 2015. His mother tongue is Spanish and is fluent in English. Agus also has a good knowledge of Portuguese. He is specialized in Trademarks.

Gained a degree in French in Alicante University in 2009, Patricia is also an official translator. She joined the firm in 2011. Patricia is Spanish and fluent in both English and French. Patricia also has a good knowledge of Italian and Portuguese. She is the person in charge of the Foreign filing Department.
